OCIA (Adult Formation)

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process for adults to prepare to be full, active members of the Roman Catholic Church. 

Step 1: Q&A Session

Have a questions about the Catholic faith? Our OCIA Q & A sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about Catholic teaching, and explore the possibility of becoming Catholic.

All are welcome! No registration is required. Q&A sessions are every Sunday at 11:45 am in the Parish Center/Education Building (next to the church).

Step 2: Catechumenate Period

The Catechumenate Period, the second period of the OCIA process, is a time of deeper learning, sharing, prayer, and growing together in Christ.

Participants explore Sacred Scripture, Catholic teaching, the Sacraments, prayer, the Mass, and what it means to live a Catholic faith in daily life.

As the process continues, participants may be dismissed from the Sunday Mass for the Liturgy of the Word reflect more deeply on the Scripture readings and their application to Christian life.

OCIA participants are encouraged to become a active part of the Holy Family Parish community. They participate in parish activities, visit Catholic Community Services, and attend diocesan OCIA events.

Educational discussions are every Sunday from 9am - 10:15am in the Education Building to the east of the church and are led by Fr. Paulraj Rayappa, a Lay Ecclesial Minister, and catechists.
